Strange enough: I got this record directly from the record company, so I do not think that this is an unofficial release, but a mispressing.

??!! I bought this when it came out and can't remember if I ever played the A side more than once, but the short and memorable B side had at least a couple of spins, BUT!??!
Today as I made an update here after a merge, I gave the A side its second chance after more than 15 years, and the sound on A as the more bombastic parts begin is completely distorted and sounds just horrible?!! 🥴🤮
It sounds like a cassette tape recorded at a too high volume /clipping in the red.
As I see comments here it isn't just me / my copy.

How on Earth did this get passed the quality control? Easy! There was none.
Ps. the 4/5 rating remains for the B side. Never liked the A side anyways.

The worst record I've ever heard.
Also, there was room for both B-sides.

I’m looking forward to them performing this @ George Bush 2’s funeral when it comes...

Wonder how many times Mr Bush has listened to this on his ranch?

It's a good single. But I have serious doubts about the "meaning" of the song. Apparently, it's about the relationship between George W. Bush and Tony Blair. I see it in a different way. I think "I'm With Stupid" is about them, and the relationship they have with their fans. I have read a lot about the boys aver the past years, and any informed fan will concede the guys are sarcastic and that they will "never tell the whole truth" to the public, as they once said. Even Neil Tennant sings "You grin, I pose. It's not about sincerity, everybody knows." The video for the track had them kidnapped and obliged to assist to a re-cap of the "Very" era videos, performed by two unlikely doubles with no significant budget. Maybe an allusion to those who constantly asked them for a "Very 2" which never really came out in one take. The whole show looks tragic and there is never any direct visual reference to Bush or Blair. Yet, we are once again projected into the "pointy hats" universe. "Do we really have a relationship so special in your heart?" asks Tennant. The lyrics raise more questions than answers. But ultimately, what I feel in this song is that they are tired. The end might be near.
