Def Leppard – On Through The Night

Beautifully mastered as Japanese pressing often are. Solid outer jackets so refreshing from the flimsy Aust and NZ ones I’m used to here down under. Crisp dynamic wide sound stage. On the edge of being a fraction too hot which I’ve noticed particularly on 2nd or 3rd Jap pressings, this is a 1st however. Well worth if you can find in the wild.

Sounds like your typical early Def Leppard press. Good rock and roll sound. Good mix. Nice and clear.

The pressing itself is good but the mastering seems quiet compared to my OG high n dry pressing and other era-correct pressings of hard rock/metal records. Also a little more compressed, it's like the worst of both worlds. It sounds decent enough and doesn't have a loudness wars vibe, but I'll keep looking for a clean original.

Regarding dr.loudness-war

Does this variant not come with a printed lyric sheet? I have had this record since the early 80's and I never remember a lyric sheet. Mine only has a plain paper inner sleeve. It's possible my memory failed me and there was one included but was lost back then, but I don't believe that's the case. By the way, this album still sounds great after all of these years, and is my favorite Def Leppard album right up along with High N Dry.

Some would say their best. I wouldn’t go that far but this is certainly a sonic treat. Nice pressing deep rich soundstage. Pleased to pick up in such good condition for its age.

Their first & best. Recorded & released before Mutt Lange used them as a lab experiment.

Is this blue Vinyl 180 gram and remastered as it doesn't say it is?

Would seem strange if it wasn't either as the black Vinyl released around the same time is 180 gram and remastered.
