AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH never mind the below crap, TODAY i got my replacement copy, this is a very nice german reissue of this second and last lp released by one of the biggest punk bands from france from the 1977 punk explosion........... no doubt the first lp in 1977 was the best, this is the second lp originally released in 1979, this was pressed in 2015 on yellow transparent vinyl and it seems like this copy is already more rare then the original copy from almost 38 years ago back in 79, this is a real asset for a real old school punks collection.....

hi i got the lp already but the disc is warped quite a bit, for a few days i am going to leave it under a heavy box with protection, i would rather try to fix this then not be able to use it, i think the warping came from the lp being sealed that way in the past year since its release, merci merci ed

this is a very nice cd reissue of this 1979 french punk classic, this comes in a small digi pack and has fantastic remastering, this is a french issued cd, sadly this band was around from 1977 through 1981 when they split up but got little notice outside of france even though they did do some uk dates in 1977 and one of the members actually got stabbed by sid vicious (true story) anyway i liked there first lp from 1977 better but this was great to and i was very pleased to get it on cd about 5 years ago......

Stinky Toys second LP was unknown to me for many years, although I have owned their first LP almost since it first was released.

This is not your average punk, and I doubt I would even call the music "punk" at all, except for maybe the sensibilities and the attitude. Elli Medeiros could not carry a tune in a five-gallon pail, but her voice does have a certain style that is suited to the odd musical stylings.

Guitarists Bruno Carone & Jacno hacked and hewed their way through odd stylings and almost backward phrasings, and for what they were "supposed" to be, they sure display a lot of talent. The song "Birthday Party" is somewhat reminiscent of 60's type stuff with even a touch of Jacques Brel thrown in. "Uruguayan Dream", with its mournful chorus, is, dare I say it, almost beautiful, very sad & dream-like, almost. As I mentioned, Elli's vocals aren't exactly top of the line but they do have a certain style that works well with the music.

I know the band was dismissed as nothing but a bunch of recycled Stones & NY Dolls rip-offs back in the day, and I read somewhere that Elli Medeiros was described as a "dime store Debbie Harry", but in going back to this LP over the weekend while taping some old stuff for a friend, I listened to this, and I listened to it again, and I heard it like I never listened to it before, and I marveled how GOOD it sounded after all this time. A sadly underrated band.
