Regarding Variant 2, Side A, I have a similar copy. I think the runout is more likely showing a "1-13-68" etching vs "1-B-68". Also noted on my copy... very faint stamps on both sides showing ......"Matrix" ... (likely mastered at CustoMatrix)

Is this a real mono mix or just a fold down?

Powered by Dennis Yost's versatile voice, this immensely talented outfit (witness the classic '60s hit 'Spooky') never got the support to be contenders (later morphed into the successful Atlanta Rhythm Section). This is actually surprisingly enjoyable with an odd mix of stylistic changes & 2 cringeworthy covers - some nice touches of top-40 pop & lite-psych/blue-eyed soul - could have been a killer. Lost opportunity.
