One of the times where I much prefer the PSB own extended version over any of the other mixes. Though, the Morales Remix (not included on this USA CD-single) is probably my favorite remix overall.
Track A2 "Dub Mix" is not based on "The Morales Remix" but on "The Morales Club Mix (11:25)" which has never been released commercially, only on a UK promo 12" (Discogs release #2048748) and a french bootleg CD-R. "The Morales Club Mix" might be considered as the true extended mix of the single version rather than the "PSB Extension Mix" which lacks various elements of the original (strings and sound effects). Its release has been cancelled because it contains some extra lyrics, a joke about action man, that PSB didn't like anymore after a while. But it's a shame, because the Morales club mix is very good. They could have asked David Morales to simply remove that part just like they did on the album version. Go figure why they didn't... An even better ambient mix (the Morales reprise) exists with full vocals. Withdrawn for the same reason.
The long-titled, but still meaningful I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WANT BUT I CAN'T GIVE IT ANY MORE gets digitally retouched by David Morales, who seems back to form, back in touch with his house roots. Lots of synth sweeps, a solid beat, and the emotion shows its way through. Felix Da Housecat does a shimmery remix with a nice electro bass and some 80s style stabs. And on "Je T'aime... Moi Non Plus," the boys take on the Serge Gainsbourg classic with a cover that even that dirty old French man would appreciate.
