another release with remixes of this "classic" (pun intended) track.
this time, a gabber / trancecore vibe get's added to the track.

several akas of marc, and Lenny dee, remix the track.
especially noteworthy are the "ultimate rave remix", which more or less became the "official version" of this track (the version most used by marc himself during performances) and mr. didesiderio's remix - which adds an early euro-american hardcore edge with a lot of spunk to it.

          9 is a classic has become a classic itself. It deserved it - ultra-manic mentasm-driving techno-core.
          Pay attention to the flipside:
"Your special attraction" is an underrated breakbeat gem.

A2 (MM's Dope Dub) samples the drum break from Ten City's "Devotion (The Voice of Paradise Mix)", and it would've been one of the first tracks to have done so.

Great remixes and for once doesn't follow the original closely like other boring remixers who charge a high fee and its always crap! Wow was 92 that far ago? I'm nearly ... and still love this ffs! ;)

303 Nation and GTO are the best Remixes in my opinion.

Very surprised this one hasn't been reviewed so far. Back in 2003 (to 2006) I ran an independent record shop in the North Laines (sic) of Brighton. Whenever the hard house posse came in (ie late Saturday afternoon if we were lucky), we'd spin this one, loud, and make a disproportionately large amount of sales. Seriously, if you're into that Dynamic Intervention/Glazby thing, you should have this at the top of your shopping list. Extraordinarily Phat!!

Marc Trauner was a genious of the Electronica since the end eighties. His multi-talent brought some of the Standards of Techno-Rave, Gabba and even Breakbeats, from his monikers Ace The Space to Mescalinum United, The Mover, among many others. As Ace The Space, he rocked the blocks with the massive release of "9 Is A Classic" on Dance Ecstasy 2001.
The homonym tune on the single had an explosive combination between the funny vocals of Mr. Shabazz and the powerful line of synthesizers with devastating timbres; it emerged as an exemplary Gabba prototype and was quickly transformed into a huge Rave anthem, a massive storm on any rave repertories of that period.
On the other side, "Your Special Attraction" was a mega-powerful full-lenght Breakbeat line melted in a deep bass, hypnotic synth melodies and funny samples that points us to the ecstasy-rave culture. The quotes "E-E-E-Xtacy!" and "I got it!" (this last one being taken from Eddie Bo's 1969 classic "Hook & Sling"), suggests the unconditional presence of those illegal substances on the raves.
