Uriah Heep – Demons And Wizards

Excellent album in every way. The sound is also great (I don't have another release to compare). The pressing seems perfectly fine to me, no distortion, just a few clicks, the cover is beautiful, I'm considering buying the release with the original cover for comparison. I'm completely satisfied. I recommend it.

My old VG copy still sounds crisp. I wish it was a bit warmer (recorded with typical early 70’s midrange boost). Will sound good on mid-fi systems.

An entertaining prog folk exploration that wants to sound good but the use of noise reduction prevents that possibility. Unfortunate.

Uriah Heep at the top of their game, my original first press is in NM condition and plays superbly. This is a quality recording with good stereo separation, a wide sound stage and individual instruments are well separated and clear, Gary Thain's bass in particular is distinct and well balanced while David Byron's and Ken Hensley's vocals are clear and well projected at the front of the stage. One of the favourite records in my collection.

My copy has a lot of surface noise, which is clearly hearable in the quiet parts. But the master is dynamic and the instrument separation is good. Overall a very clear and natural sound. Also, the record looks really neat.

Suffers greatly from IGD which is sad, muffled towards the end, other than that, a true 70s sounding lp.

Good pressing. Good balance. Good clarity. Very cool album cover.

Appears identical in all respects to the 2020 UK issue, except with different overlabeled barcode (not sure about any hype stickers). Identical labels, inserts as the 2020 issue and the pressing marks are identical to both the 2018 and 2020 remastered issues, which were both cut and pressed at Optimal.

My copy sounds great. I don't have another pressing to compare to, but this copy gives nothing to complain about and presents the kind full, clear, layered sound you would want from this title. The organ has great body, the guitars crunch when they should - good stuff.

Found a variant 2 at a thrift store recently, and really enjoying it.
