Reviews
- Dead quiet, yes. But I can't recommend it. The (European) reissue lacks the familiar dynamics, there's no beef in the bass department. Five stars for the recording, but three at best for the pressing.

God damn this pressing sound loud and hot! Clear audio, sharp stereo seperation, bass is deep, as vocals is up front. Great canadian pressing.- my favorite Heep album. the reissue sounds fantastic. the reproduction is very good. highly recommended. only downside: the LP is a dust magnet. i have this a lot with these new reproductions.
- My copy (same front cover, run-out etchings w/ PR) has same label but with no Bronze logo and with a lame Mercury-Wing back cover promoting other High Fidelity and Stereo Albums
- Good pressing from one of Uriah Heep's legendary early albums, even if I return to the A side a little more often, every song on the album is really good and worth listening to.
- Doesn't sound great, quite muddy and no punch. The only version I have so can't speak for any others... they must be better?!

Great album!, also great album cover as well. Though my copy of this pressing is a tad bit muffed and lacks the high end. But can be fixed with some eq tinkeringreferencing Salisbury (LP, Album, Reissue) 28 764 ET
This is really a great pressing. Really great dynamics and a wide soundstage, absolutely quiet vinyl. The packaging says "budget", but the sound "audiophile". A still cheap reissue recommended from the heart.referencing Salisbury (LP, Album, Gatefold) 6360 028
‘Salisbury’ was the second studio LP by Britain’s Uriah Heep and it has been called by many reviewers as their most progressive release. This is probably due to the sixteen minute title track which takes up most of side two of the original vinyl. Other than that nugget, I don’t find it more progressive than any of their other early albums; at least the ones I have listened to (debut through ‘Sweet Freedom’). My opinion of this album has improved slightly since I last reviewed ‘Salisbury’ as I like it much more than I originally did. “Bird of Prey” and “Lady in Black”’ are the obvious stunners and probably the songs most discussed when the subject of this record is brought up (along with the terrible album covers - the UK and US versions were different but equally suck) but I’ve come to appreciate the other tracks as well. The quiet majesty of “The Park” and the dynamic hard rock of “Time to Live” also impress with multiple listens as well as the..ahem, high flying “High Priestess”. “Salisbury” the song may seem ponderous to those who are not progressively inclined but I’ve come to really like this song as well and ends the LP on a triumphant note. Mick Box in particular has been praised for his extended soloing on this track as well. ‘Salisbury’ is also known as the album where Ken Hensley became a major contributor as a songwriter along with his distinct Hammond organ and slide guitar. He also sings both “Lady” and “Priestess” as well. David Byron puts in an outstanding performance as well as he sings the other tunes and the contrasts between his screaming in “Bird of Prey” and “Time to Live” and his almost ethereal vocal on “The Park” shows just how great a singer he really was. Uriah Heep had not really solidified their lineup by the release of ‘Salisbury’ (February 1971) but the creative core of the classic era (Box, Byron and Hensley) were on full display. There are other Uriah Heep records I would recommend before ‘Salisbury’ but you still need it because it (US version has “Simon the Bullet Freak” instead of “Bird of Prey but the remastered version I have has both) displays how talented this underrated band truly was. I can see the look that says beware…
