'Now Is The Time' is Alanis Morissette's second CD, and this is the first time I have ever listened to it. It's a natural bridge from her first release 'Alanis' and 1995's 'Jagged Little Pill.' The first disc was completly souless, while the third registered with the globe in it's earnest angst. 'Now Is The Time' is still dance based, but there is much more to the songwriting, and it's a little darker. Her original fans didn't know what to make of it, and it's the only CD of hers not to chart in Canada. While I can't recommend her first CD, I can recommend this one, a very nice stepping stone to what became her signiture sound. Three Stars. (Out of 5)
