Spacemen 3 – Playing With Fire

Got this off Tang Records website several years ago and so thrilled that I did. Love Spacemen 3 and this honestly has some of their best work since Perfect Prescription. Records sound great and always awesome to add to my minimal 10” vinyl collection.

Don't let the haters and salty fanboys tell you otherwise; this pressing sounds amazing. Besides, I have always been skeptical of Superior Viaduct who are never transparent about their mastering sources. On a decent setup you might be surprised at how good this pressing sounds.

I have a 1988 version of this with embossed cover. Also includes KAMIKHAZI merchandise and management flyer ( for £2.00 offer for Spacemen 3 live recording at The Melkweg in Amsterdam, i.e. "Performance"). Any ideas why this version is not listed here?

Exceptional press. No nasal , thin sounding crap here.
With all the bad prints/presses of their music doing the rounds, this label really have their act together.

This first US press sounds great. The UK jacket is a little fancier with the debossed jacket, but I'm very happy with the classic psych lp from one of the most important bands of the 90's.

Classic low-fi indie druggie vibes. Would be a perfect dope album as most are blissful, near-religious paeans to getting high - but be aware tracks Revolution (driving Stooges-like indie club dance classic) and Suicide are loud and discordant! Not ones for toking along to!

Love this album, it’s a real trip. :)
Mine is the embossed cover and sounds better to my ears than the reissues. Plus it’s still pretty cheap…

really nice old-school sound. as close as to the original pressing as you can wish for. no sound-make ups, no extra equalising, no boosting up of frequencies, or CD-type of sound: TIP TOP

The sound is ok for a reissue. Some slight surface noise here and there but not overwhelming enuff to spoil your listening experience. If you don’t want to fish out good money to get the original pressing you can consider this as an alternative.

Fantastic sounding re-issue that provides all the sonic buzz and intensity that these guys had to offer. Great range of sounds that serve up a nice reminder of what made vinyl such a superior format. Sweet.
