Spacemen 3 – Recurring

Same runouts / repro inner sleeve / double sided glossy photo of Kember/Pierce / download card... but mine came with a black poly-lined paper inner. Anyone else?

This is an incredibly well done pressing. The whole experience is tip top. Flat, centred, no noise, super balanced master, no unintentional harshness or sibilance. Just marvellous. DO IT.

Don't let the haters and salty fanboys tell you otherwise; this pressing sounds amazing. Besides, I have always been skeptical of Superior Viaduct who are never transparent about their mastering sources. On a decent setup you might be surprised at how good this pressing sounds.

My copy has nary a pop or crackle, no skips or IGD, and is a sold, flat, heavy pressing. Sorry for people who received shitty copies. Guess I got lucky.

Is this another Space Age records 'mastered from CD' job?

For those that are curious, this reproduces the original UK *cassette* release, featuring the full length versions of “Big City” and “Billy Whizz/Blue 1”.

Snap, Crackle and Pop all the way through. Reviews are accurate it would seem. Definitely will be after a better pressing soon.

If you’re looking for hi fi audio quality you’re in the wrong place, Pete’s tracks are rough and ready in some parts and that’s deliberate.

All the tracks EXCEPT Big City sounds awesome. Big City is the long mix, and unfortunately it sounds much worse than any other track on the disk. But the rest is glorious.

Feel like I’m hearing subtle things I haven’t heard before with this pressing, I like it

Not a bad press, but not the best either. My record turned out to be quiet and with a light noise between tracks. At high volume though the sound becomes much better and more punchy. Not a bad choice considering the comments on the Space Age red vinyl press.
