From the label that can (almost) do no wrong comes one of its best releases ever. <i>Shallow and Profound</i> is a remarkable album, mixing jazz, ambient and downtempo with a Eastern European tang. The second disc of the limited edition features longer, live versions of the original songs, but I think the originals stand up much better. My favorites tracks: "Milonga Del Mar" and "Pabadam." Classy all the way.

This one has grown and grown on me. At first I wondered what all the hype was about, now I really like it, very much looking forward to his next album.

One of the best albums of the year, a perfect mix of all my favorite music styles. A shame I missed them at Pukkelpop 2000. Hope they come back to Belgium some time, I would love to see them live.
