I just received the album this morning, and gave it 2 test runs, once through my headphones and once through my room speakers. If there is a "best sounding" album in my collection, this is probably it. I really can't imagine anything any better. I've had the MFSL "gold disc' Abraxas CD since 1991. That's around the time I got rid of my '60s and '70s and early 80s vinyl from my hippy years. What a mistake that was. Not the "hippy years', but getting rid of my vinyl collection. I just started stocking up on vinyl again, a couple of years ago. This MFSL, Abraxas release is so fine. And I would definitely recommend adding it to your collection.referencing Abraxas (SACD, Hybrid, Stereo, Album, Limited Edition, Numbered, Reissue, Remastered) UDSACD 2152
Wide and layered soundstage with beautiful instrument separation. One of the best SACDs I own. There are a few spots where you might be able to hear recording issues - tape hiss or timbre of the instruments but it is negligible. If this album doesn’t take you away you need a new soul.referencing Abraxas (LP, Album, Reissue, 180g) 88875194291
Pulled this out, Cleaned, and Spinning...Wax is flat, little to no surface noise, and the sound is damn good (without selling a kidney) on my modest system...

since this was cut from DSD 256 why not use this same dsd 256 files to cut the latest mofi version on supervinyl?referencing Abraxas (LP, Album, Numbered, Reissue, Remastered, Special Edition, Stereo, 180g, SuperVinyl) MFSV 1-539
This thing is awesome. I can't compare it to another pressing, but on its own terms, it sounds fantastic.
The pressing is extremely quiet, as well.- Just got this copy from Amazon matrix run out as shown Optical Media . Excellent sound one of the best sounding in my collection ,but mine is 140 Grams anyone else's this weight.

Does it sound great? Yes. The best version of the album? Yes. Does it sound like $950 more than a current pressing or the new MoFi? NO. NO. NO. NOT EVEN CLOSE. If you have this, amazing, you have the best version. If you have any other release, you don't need to spend 1600% more for 10% more sound. You WILL be disappointed. You WILL regret it every second. Ignore what the "professionals" say. This is NOT lifechanging. It is NOT out of this world. It is just ever so slightly better than every other version, just like every other One-step and fancy pressing of any album. Pay your car payment instead - Just got a new sealed copy of this pressing, and it rocks. I have 10+ versions including the one-step, and I’m sure there are lots of people that can put my system to shame. That being said, this version is punchy in a great way and has the snap in presentation that makes you want to start dancing wherever you are. Get a clean copy and enjoy. I can say the one-step is 17x what I paid for this, but if you have a great system, you may hear some improvements in various parts. I actually like the 'noises' some people complain about.
