referencing Navigator (CD, Album, Stereo) O-45
a CD that remains off the shelf and inside the players. one of the most thought-provoking albums of the period, often classed industrial or EBM, but with obvious creative cinematic Quality. tracks on CD slightly blend one to the next. Full absorbtion of this CD is like being immersed within epic dream-dance of shadows, oceans of uncertainty and Lovecraftian magic. The deft interwoven sample-work, mysterious lyrical poetry + other brilliant collage keep a listener engaged. will also energize the body. try to remain still to Date Unknown, SerpentCharmer,LookingGlassMen, Gates or CelebratetheCult. never stray from the murky theme. nothing like it before or after. Literally all of Andreas's music (even all collaboration projects or remixes) offers deeper experience. Recommendedreferencing Navigator (CD, Album) MET 047
To me this album will always be one of the unsung heroes of mid-90s industrial music and I would still consider it one of my favorites in my collection. Here we have very untypical rhythms, long interludes of dark ambient, the occasional clubby moments, but most importantly, an amazingly atmospheric flow from beginning to end. Andreas did not partake too heavily in the whole industrial/EBM scene, which is probably a good thing, because it allowed him to produce exactly what he wanted, without compromise. If you don't have this classic release, you really are missing out. And his follow-up, Automate, finds him traveling further down that quiet, deep path, shrugging off genres or expectations - must have material after listening to Navigator. We can only hope the journey continues.
