Bjørn Svin – Benene På Nakken!

I've always been a big fan of Bjorn his work, and as a surprise appeared my voice from his telephone answering machine on this CD album –"–Bjørn Svin Lattergas
Featuring – Filip* " defenily fine memorys :)

Weird and wonderful techno from Bjørn Svin (and his two aliases) ‎on BENENE PA NAKKEN.. The steady thump of "Mand Over Bord" mixes with a jaunty melody, while "Heated & Muted" and "Han Tog Til Køge" are dirty electro through and through. "Søde" gets back to the floor-ready beat and a wiggly, shiny melody. "Mer Strøm #0 (Reprise)" is a quick melodic breather before the melancholy "Bamsen Der Gerne Ville Være Bjørn" skitters onto the stage. Great fun here.

I only know this track: Mand Over Bord. And immediately it is one of my most favourite tracks. Even after years it is still one of my favourite all-time classics. A few months/almost a year ago I found out there was this whole album (with the track on it!) and bought it. Honestly I have to say I must get familliar to all other tracks besides Mand Over Bord, but I am happy to have it.

A great release. Period.

"Mand Over Bord" is a unique crowdpleaser - and although it is pretty harsh, it is very accessable through that distinctive scandinavian humour shining through. If you like Neil Landstrumms early bangers on Peacefrog, the opener of Bjørns Album and it's follow-up, "Benene På Nakken" (which means something like "Legs on the neck" - just look at the comic strip on the cover) won't dissapoint you. Squeaky and hard, but at the same time funny and funky as hell!

"Søde" - as already mentioned in a review for the vinyl version of the album - really IS a classic track regarding danish electronic music. A beautiful, melodic piece of melancholic, still driving techno music.

Until the end of the album, there is a wide variety of emotional electronic music to be heard - as on every record Bjørn has released up to date. "Mer Strøm" also is a very nice and tasty album, but "Benene På Nakken" just jumps in your face, puts a smile on your face and keeps you wondering what will happen next. This man really puts love into the music he plays and records. Plus, he really has a ball when he's playing live, jumping around his machines and dancing.

A musician who loves and enjoys what he does - and doesn't seem take himself too seriously.

This record is a gem in danish music. It really shows of Bjørn Svin's natural talent for making really good experimental and melodic techno/house. It has an optimistic vibe and absolutly wonderful tunes. A track like "Søde"(Sweet/Sweety in english) just builds up and becomes - perfect! Søde is today considered a classic tune in danish techno. My personal favorite tune is "101 engle" (101 angels) a track born from fustration and into all those angels made out of a Roland SH 101.

The whole album is really put great together and is worth listening to for everybody that has an interest in artists like Aphex Twin, Kristian Vogel and Orlando Voorn.
