Mahalia – IRL

ALL KILLER and NO FILLER! Exceptionally good, extremely well produced and beautifully put together collection of highly captivating classic R&B songs. This is one of those rare LPs that can be enjoyed over and over again. It's just so good...😊👍👍.

Anyway, believe it or not, this is already Mahalia third (!), wonderful album with Atlantic. And it baffles me that this accomplished artist still gets so little recognition - Actually I am not when I look at the dreadful PR work around Mahalia 🤔.

IMHO this is where the problem lies AGAIN. Again, because Mahalia's situation somehow reminds me of Tyla (6)'s recent debut album, whose prematurely rushed LP release was also a complete botch. In both cases, the two global recording label giants Atlantic and Epic seem to have no idea how to properly market a top notch product.

This makes me wonder who are these amateurs in the A&R departments of these major labels who clearly have no clue on how to properly promote an up and coming, truly talented artist like Mahalia or a Tyla (6)?

Well, I really feel bad for these marvelous, gifted singers and performers because poorly planned and executed marketing efforts can really derail promising careers. These cases show once again how important well-networked and well-coordinated professional management is for success. I sincerely hope these artists find it one day...

Simple black pressing that looks and sounds good - I love the cover art, definitely recommend picking up a copy while they're for sale the same price as the standard cover :)
