Such a badass and classic album. I remember clearly being at the to dark park tour waiting for the show to start and they were playing this while setting up after the opening act. It sounded so fresh and new, I couldn't' wait to get my hands on it. Key and Goettel could do no wrong at this point in time.

No issues with my copy! Even gave it another close listen after seeing some negative feedback. An Excellent Pressing!

DRG's textures are mesmerizing as evidenced in F862. The world lost a beautiful musician that fateful day. His absence still hurts and angers me. What a loss...

I would avoid this Black / White Half-Half pressing, since its noise in white section area. Basically, the noise alternates with the silence as the needle passes between the black and white vinyl.

At high volume, I notice a light hiss/noise from the white portion of the vinyl, it goes away when the needle is on black, and the noise toggles back and forth as the record plays. Can barely hear it in quiet parts, but it is there. Outstanding album otherwise. I feel a little lucky to own one since only 100 were pressed.

An excellent pressing! This is a must for any old school Skinny Puppy fan!

This album sounds good as hell. Literally and figuratively. Wish it came with a download card because the mastering is outstanding.

For those of you who are WaxTrax! or Skinny Puppy fans then you already are probably familiar with Doubting Thomas. Doubting Thomas was a side-project for cEvin Key and Dwayne Goettel. Doubting Thomas fills in the gap between the time of Skinny Puppies Rabies and Too Dark Park albums and also predates Key's Download project by many years. This 2 disc Special Edition of "The Infidel" contains 26 tracks including the Father Don't Cry EP. Now before I go on I do have to mention that all 26 tracks were previously released on Sub-Conscious's very limited and out of print, From the Vault series, although this version does offer alternative artwork. With that said the remastered version of The Infidel is still worth picking up. In addition to the fatter bass and a better stereo mix you also get 6 new songs that weren't available on the 1991 Waxtrax editions. This is pretty much an instrumental album although when there are vocals they are delivered via sampled dialogue. To this day however tracks such as "Father Don't Cry" and "Clocks" are still considered to be club staples. There are some interesting songs and sounds on the album as tracks such s "Turn a New Leaf" actually have a Jamaican feel to them. The only tracks with "real" vocals is on I.D.L., where the voice is contributed by Naomi McLeod, who had previously worked with Sarah McLaughlin, also if you are a fan of Nettwerk records as I am, it is worth noting that Tom Ellard of Severed Heads fame who scores some co-engineering credits on a couple of the songs. All in all this is an album that should be in everyone's collection whether you are a fan of Skinny Puppy, Download, WaxTrax or IDM music---reviews are originally done for Grave Concerns E-zine http://graveconcernsezine.com

I love this release. Coming from a huge Skinny Puppy fan, I like the fact that if you enjoy the music that Skinny Puppy comes up with and all the samples but want to take a break from Ogre's vocals than this CD is perfect for you. This release along with the Father Don't Cry release throws all kinds of cool samples coming from old horror/ sci-fi/ thriller/ war films like "Pit and the Pendulum", "Shadow of a Doubt", "The Day the Earth Stood Sill", "the Legend of Hell House", "The Legend of Hell House. I bought this CD right after having an operation back in the early 90's and while I sat there all doped up on pain killers I thought this was the coolest stuff I've ever heard. Makes great use of stereo speakers too. brap on!
