The Cure – Disintegration

This particular pressing is fantastic as far as cure albums go.....I dont think any cure album sounds amazing to be honest. It says "turn it up" on the inner and indeed this is what needs to be done to enjoy it fully. Indeed a masterpiece but second to the cures finest and ultimate masterpiece......pornography. so there you go.

Sound-wise, this pressing delivers the album’s lush production with clarity and warmth. Tracks like Pictures of You and Untitled have space to breathe, and the analog mastering handles the dense layers of synths and guitar with ease. A standout edition of a truly essential album in The Cure's discography — both for listening and collecting.

Better than the MPO by simply being on center for all 4 sides which should not be an accomplishment in this day and age. It's very noisy out of the sleeve so a cleaning is definitely warranted in order to decrease the noise level. And despite this being spread over 4 sides, I get some distortion at the end of sides 2 & 4 on some of the sound textures, the "sssssss" when sung is not distorted so there's something weird with Miles' cut as this seems to only happen on the latest titles he's cut. Alignment is perfect and other records are clear at the end so I am at lost to what's causing it. Between all the companies that pressed this, it's sad that we can't get one decent pressing out of it (I'd gladly take the single disc original with two less tracks over these remastered iterations).

My copy is fantastic, no complaints. Surprised to see some of comments, I must have lucked out and got a quiet pressing.

Incredible pressing with amazing bass and depth. This album sounds magical.

I had to listen to it a second time after reading all the posts here. Yes I agree a very cloudy sound. It is too bad because this music is so luxurious with all of its layers and complexity. This pressing smashes all that beauty into a single unpleasant sound lacking any depth and feeling

This version is amazing. Great dynamics. Soundstage is nice. Packaging is perfect. Vinyl is flat and quiet. If you love this album, definitely consider it for your collection.

Pressing sounds clean and punchy on my system. Compared to digital the LP is definitely less compressed. Drums have a bit more pop on the LP. Discs did have have some factory debris but it easily came off with dry brush cleaner.
