Roger O'Donnell says about the sound of Disintegration: "The first time I heard the finished record was actually on a cassette and I was hugely disappointed with the mastering, of course it didn’t help it was on a cassette but even now I think it sounds really flat and compressed and without any life in it. Entreat, the live version recorded at Wembley in the Summer of 1989 always sounded way way better"
If Roger O'donnell says so... it would be nice to know his opinion about the remastering!

Just got this pressing today. No issues with skipping, pops, dirt or distortion. This album sounds amazing. Mite be my Ortofon 2M Blue making it sound awesome to. But it’s one of the best pressing of a new album I’ve ever had.

Sounds utterly fantastic. Absolutely brilliant master, really makes it shine on vinyl. A must-buy, especially if you can find it for a cheap price (like I did)

I had this CD new in long box, back in the day. I recorded it on a Sony UX-Pro 90 mins cassette (CrO2) to carry on my aiwa walkman (as CDs were pricey I used to do this all the time--this made my collection arrived safe almost 40 years later to 2022 with very few lost or broken cds). Somehow I got used to listen to the bright mids and highs of the music in that tape, but, every once in a while, I listened to the CD in full speakers volume in a medium sized room (10' x 10') and the music sounded flat, suffocated, no highs (hit-hats, cymbals, sharp guitars, etc.) or the bass boost that I got through the walkman's headphones... and I noticed this has continued on later mp3 files I've made from this same CD which I still own. I used to pick the cd single versions of 'Lovesong', 'Pictures', 'Street' and 'Lullaby' whenever I needed to do mixtapes with This album songs: they sounded 'brighter', 'cleaner' don't know how to explain: probably was the single Mix they did for those to sound attractive for radio listeners? how it would've sounded if the album was mixed like those songs?...any of you have experienced something like this? In the other hand, ANY format of the 'Entreat' live album sounds AMAZING.

As stated by some, I had to clean this before actually getting to enjoying it. First time I put it on the noise was overwhelming but it’s because it came very dusty and dirty. After cleaning it up, it’s just inexplicable. I don’t even know if it’s the quality of the vinyl or just the fact that this is one of the most haunting, mesmerizing auditive experiences ever created. Once you hear that drum hit on Plainsong, you’re in for an astral travel.

I have this release and would like to share my thoughts... I think it's a very good pressing, I don't have any issue/skip or groove wear on my two LP, the background noise is practically absent, just two light tickles on first track ("Plainsong") and one tickle on track C1's intro, all the rest is flawless, both records are flat, the mixing is on spot, I really recommend it. I've done just one cleaning session with my Okki Nokki, probably I'll go for a second one in the further days to check if the three pops will disappear. This release is the first one on vinyl with the lyrics printed on inner sleeves (conforming to what is written on hype-sticker), so it could be considered as a little plus. Satisfied!

Full j-card in NM condition, Discogs won't let me list it without the cassette. Offers welcome (not trying to get rich off a j-card, just don't want to throw it away). Interested parties DM.

I have a virtually unplayed copy of this that has been ultrasonically cleaned and there is still a fair bit of surface noise. The mastering on here is good, but the quality of the vinyl is okay. It is a little too loud and quite thin. The album itself is absolutely phenomenal!

Love the album, but this version sounds a bit dull on my system.
