A good sounding record but nothing mind blowing. Admittedly it’s not an album known for its recording quality but I’m pleased enough with the treatment Superior Viaduct has given it. My copy is free of noise except for a repeated tick for the last minute or so of the last song on side A, which is a bit of a bummer. Overall not a bad pressing whatsoever and considering that it’s the only affordable option for this legendary album, I’m more than happy with my copy.referencing The Ascension (LP, Album, Reissue) SV056
Are the record and cover really that blue in person?referencing The Ascension (LP, Album, Reissue) SV056
Disco pazzesco, minimale e feroce... suono di ottimo livello! Ispiratore del suono prossimo dei Sonic Youth...referencing The Ascension (LP, Album, Reissue) SV056
Beautiful noise, can't believe I didn't have this in my collection seeing that I love Sonic Youth and Boris. Sweeping sheets of guitar that build and fall while shifting octaves.referencing The Ascension (LP, Album, Reissue) SV056
Can anybody post the runouts for this 2022 reissue? Need to confirm if its another in-house cut done at GZ Media.- Edited 2 years ago

Sounds almost exactly like the digital version I own, albeit a bit bassier and fuller. Vinyl itself is well pressed and noise-free, dunno where was it pressed however. Comes in a high quality tip-on jacket compared to the flimsy Fortissimo edition. Artwork isn't exactly as crisp as the original 99 Records issue, but it's not "Music on Vinyl bad" either way.
EDIT: From the runout I can now notice that this was pressed at GZ Media. So yeah, there's that. referencing The Ascension (LP, Album, Black Label) 99-001LP
I don't get how this sold 10,000 copies in 1981...referencing The Ascension (LP, Album, Black Label) 99-001LP
This LP is originally NOT with the name label / sticker right above.referencing The Ascension (LP, Album, Black Label) 99-001LP
Contrary to the one pictured here, my copy has a silver color label with black text. Also, if you put a strong source of light behind the disc, you can see that it is a dark brown colored LP.referencing The Ascension (LP, Album, Reissue) SV056
The official release date was the 25th of November, but if you're on Superior Viaduct's mailing list, they let you order it, and started shipping it, about a week early.
I haven't heard the original, but just like the SV reissue of Lesson No. 1, this sounds pretty good to me.
