The Cure – Wild Mood Swings

unlistenable. unplayable. skips all over the place. disappointed in all these cure re releases. makes me not want to listen to my favorite albums :(

To me this sounds quite good, not bad at all for a bootleg!

i just don't wanna buy a record with a giant fucking hole in the front cover

why is this allowed for sale / trade on here and the other coloured variants marked 'unofficial release' are all blocked? Some consistency would be nice.

Not in my wildest mood swings would I buy a picture disc.
I took a chance on this European pressing because of the positive reviews here.
Must admit, I'm glad I did. It's not flawless, but it doesn't leave me wanting.
It's mostly quiet, mostly. Very flat. Great dynamics and soundstage, bright in a nice way. And, yeah, looks kinda cool, too.

I finally broke down and bought a copy of this version of Wild Mood Swings. To be honest, it's my first picture disc since I bought a Soundgarden 45 as a picture disc during the mid-90s. That 45 had so much surface noise that I was turned off from picture discs. Since it seemed like this was never going to receive an official regular black vinyl release, I took a chance. I'll give the pressing a 8/10. It loses one mark due to too much treble/high end in the mix. It loses another mark due to two skips at the beginning of "Trap" on side 4. Surface noise is minimal, so I was quite surprised of that. Still, though, why does Robert Smith keep re-releasing on picture discs? Give us what we want -- a proper vinyl release. At least Wish is getting a proper release.

so much surface noise probably one of the worst records in the my collection and i have a lot of bad records lol. :(.
But nice to look at while its spinning.
too bad i slept on this when the original was released.....

I must be the only one that thinks this picture disc is terrible. Quality from UMC records up to their usual standard. A 3-5mm wide audible scratch on R1 side A, run in track 1 on R1 side B sounded like a 1950's haulage train. R2 is wispy and flat. Both records are super low gain.
I will never buy a picture disc again, I am also cautious of these new coloured 180g records these days especially the RSD copies. Original vinyl is the best apart from some band sanctioned releases and the certified Abbey Road HS Remasters.

This is an amazing pressing, easily the best picture disc i’ve heard. I love this album so much and it’s nice to have an affordable copy. the picture discs also look nice, and are very thick. the only negative is the sleeves the records come in are made of PVC, which can damage the vinyl. but once you switch those sleeves out, you are left with a really nice sounding and looking set.
