An absolute masterly production. As an aside, the track B3's mention seems to have been omitted on the label.

All these Chill Out or Die compilations especially the first 3 or 4 are some of the best early 90s ambient music. The class of musicians from pioneers like Pete Namlook, Atom Heart(aka Ongaku) to Szysygy to Bedouin Ascent are musicians who brought their own sound and creative genius for eager listeners willing to submit their listening ears to will of the ambient playground!

A real spacey album; a prime slice of ambient brilliance selected and mixed by Morris Gould, aka Mixmaster Morris, and not one of those languid and insipid 'chillout' affairs that consist of popular dance cuts slowed down with mogadon bpm's in the low 80's. You can loose yourself here. Opener with Namlook's brilliant 'Sequential' project- all rumbling drones and skeletal harmonies; and then mingling with Morris' own 'Space is the place'. I was surprised that i didn't know many of the acts on here (apart from the two above and the ever-excellent Bedouin Ascent); but Morris has chosen well and they are all little gems. Genuine chill-out, not wishy-washy crap that lines the shelves in HMV (you know the kind- they ALWAYS have blue-and-white covers..usually of a lounge beside a limpid swimming pool).
Essential, really.
