Walls Have Ears is a semi-official live album compiled from three 1985 UK live performances.
Production and manufacture was arranged by Paul Smith (52) of Blast First without band authorization and it was consequently withdrawn from sale. It was later bootlegged on vinyl, cassette and CD before finally receiving an official band-sanctioned release in 2024.
Tracks A1 to B2 recorded at U.L.U (the University of London Union), Wed 30th October.
Track B3 recorded live on Brighton Beach, Fri 8th November.
Tracks C1 to D4 recorded live at Hammersmith Palais, Sun 28th April.
Tracklisting as printed deviates from audio and contains several alternate titles:
Track A1 [C.B.] is a spoken introduction by Claude Bessy.
Track A2 [Green Love] is "Green Light".
Track A5 ["Mad" Groove] is a tape excerpt of Into The Groove by Madonna.
Track B2 [Spahn Ranch Dance] is "Death Valley '69".
Track B3 ["Blood On Brighton Beach"] is "Making The Nature Scene".
Track C3 [Speed JAMC] is a sped-up tape excerpt of You Trip Me Up by The Jesus And Mary Chain.

Gotta say I was a bit apprehensive about what the sound quality would be -- fears assuaged, sounds sweet... for a boot!
Brilliant release and great packaging. I somehow missed that the covers glows on the dark which is super cool.- Is the new CD edition edited? Because the original LP has the Madonna track going on for a minute and a half.

People who buys pre-orders that get sold-out in a matter of hours, and then sells their copies THREE times the original price, the DAY AFTER RELEASE DATE, are pure SCUM. Never, never, NEVER, buy to them. Let their filthy material get rotten in their basement. Rats. Period.- Edited 11 months agoHow many of these were pressed in silver, please? Does anyone know? Why are they being so mysterious about how many silver ones were made? They just say "indie only" whatever that means...

I must be really alternative and groovy. Excellent pressing. All the noise that's on this record is supposed to be there...I think.
No mention of a silver edition on Goofin Bandcamp page?
There is zero reason why the numbered edition is considered legit and this isn't. Vinyl-wise it's merely a repress. It's a Porky Prime Cut, FFS.
