Beartooth – The Surface

Great looking wax, but the pressing sounds very compressed. There's basically no detail in the sound, drums sound muddy, etc. Comparing it to the streaming version really shows the difference in sound.

First copy I received was damaged beyond belief. The plastic outer sleeve is extremely brittle and was cracked and peeling all over, Gatefold was dented, inner sleeves had extreme wear on the bindings. Records themselves were fine though. Sent an email in to get a replacement. Back and forth sending pictures so they could figure out who to blame. Ultimately got my replacement however the plastic outer sleeve damaged beyond belief yet again! Gatefold was fine, inner sleeves had residue and wear on the bindings again. At this point I might cut my losses and have them issue a refund instead of a replacement.

The album is so good, it's a shame the pressing sounds so compressed. You're honestly better off listening on Spotify or Apple Music. Also, my copy isn't quite clear - it's like a sage green clear with splatter. Definitely not what I was expecting.

wish mine had as much pink as some others, but excellent pressing + album nonetheless!

5 stars release. Very beautiful copy, nice gatefold, it's glossy on the images, shines a lot. I loved it. Great sound. It was worth buying it on the website.

Nice looking pressing matches artwork well. Also sounds great, very little surface noise only noticed between tracks.

Looks nothing like the mockup, is far from clear and the splatter is more like dots. Totally would have gone with a different variant if I had known.

The "clear" is a very very very opaque green color lol
