Bizarre, experimental techno from Cristian Vogel, pressed on very fetching bright red vinyl. Way of the Wyrd and Sub Version constitute the heavy techno side of the EP with Wyrd providing a fantastic whooping bassline and great samples - "All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream..."

Partials and Hearing Things Before They Happen represent the experimental side of Vogel's EP. Partials is very ambient, with an almost underwater, dreamy feel to it. But the real star of the show is Hearing Things. Truly brain-crunching stuff, starting with medicine man/shaman/aboriginal style rattles and drums and developing into a genuinely surreal, other-worldly sound with "This is the sound of the future" whispered over the top. This experimentation with sound was, and still is way out there, and the Infra EP still sounds as great as it did in 1994!

            Christian Vogel's debut E.P.-what a way to start !
Dave Clarke heard this guy scratching around on a Casio sampler at some squat and decided to help release a record - wadda guy, this is one of the most interesting Techno records of all. Irridium-hard Techno and experimental abient, and I do'nt know which is better - very unusual. Testament to Dave Clark's vision and proof that you do not have to sound like everybody else to succeed.
"Subversion" Hard, distorted, yet clean Acid Mental Tekno Mayhem.
"Way of the Wyrd" Dark, Caustic, Disturbed rolling Beats over an Industrial Soundscape that put 'Skinny Puppy' to shame. Samples 'Edgar Allen Poe' - " all that we see or seem, is but a dream within a dream..."
"Hearing Things before they happen" A sublimely clever Tape piece of Musique Concret. His tribute to John Cage.
            "Partials" low-key trance, extremely stimulating.
Overall, an amazing 1st release fo a 17 year old Vogel.
            He has not topped it.
