Reviews
- This was one of the first records I ever bought - rescued during high school or college in 2013/14, mainly because the promise of ‘Belgian Hardcore Madness’ sounded amazing. That, and it was 75p. The 1991 remixes rebuild the original for warehouses of the time, complete with orchestral stabs and a cheeky Stakker Humanoid snippet laced in. The original is included as well, in normal and 33+8 speed varieties, and it winds up being a fairly interesting history lesson of sorts, as Donnacha alluded to. My personal favourite is the Flesh and Bones Mix, which feels like a bit of a marriage between the sound of the 91 mixes and the original versions, with a killer bassline and ghostly vocal samples throughout.
- Flesh from three eras, the EBM era (original and '87), new beat (33 + 8 Mix) and Belgian techno (1991 and Flesh & Bones). When you look at the Belgian scene and this song, in particular, you can see the clear progression of sounds from EBM to techno (see also the members of Poésie Noire in the Morton Sherman Bellucci).

I am hoping the UK release has the correct speed it was played at in the UK one YouTube video seems to confirm this, let us hope it is not a let down.referencing Flesh (12", 33 ⅓ RPM, 45 RPM) DO 569
Belgian trance legends remixing a legendary belgian band ; the "Baker & Sam" remix is a great take on this Flesh hit !
It might be quite far from the original (especially if you were used to play it at 33RPM), but the added pad chords and acid lines give the famous gimmick a mesmerizing yet energetic feeling ! One of the few records that will always make me dance, whatever my mood is.referencing Flesh (Remix) (12", 45 RPM) FFRX 23
At least my own copy comes in Label's cover (jacket of ffrr) with the basic reference.
