I have always wondered that as this has a white background label did it actually come out (or was proceseedvat the plant) before the Foul Play Vol 3 remixes? Only as every other ten inch for about a year after (apart from the Deep Blue remixes and the square record) had the black background labels?

HoE certainly had a unique sound. Undoubtedly one of the most creative outfits in the scene, they managed to weave together random chaos without it ever falling apart at the seams and turning into a complete mess. That can't have been an easy thing to do, and it's credit to their production skills and craftsmanship that they managed to achieve that.

Of all their many great tunes, I think my personal favourite has to be Thunder Grip; the level of production that has gone into this tune is insane! From the moment the Fly II sample leads into a turntablist beat-juggle with the breaks you know this is going to be something special. The drumwork is impressive throughout with plenty of scratches, distorted kicks and tight edits, whilst various melodies dip in and out around each other in a synchronised yet seemingly freestyle fashion. Hearing all the different sounds coordinate themselves like a breaker crew's dance cypher is an absolute joy for the ears, and I can't think of any other tune like it. A masterpiece imho.

This is a beautifully re-mastered, remixed and reimagined repress of the final full Hyper On Experience EP.
The original Moving Shadow version of this release featured four superb tracks that have become timeless classics over the years.
Here, they have been lovingly remastered and in this particular case, they have not added a remix and lost a track - because all 4 originals are perfect.

Foul Play remix!! As Mr Logical mentions below Lord Of The Null-Lines was all over the pirate stations... & rightly so.

Big, big tune - really well produced & full of quality. Starting with a bassline only, moving into heavy beats with the little submarine/xylophone ping type melody, the classic... 'f**kin' Voodoo Magic man' sample from the movie Predator 2 (I believe) - breaks down with dark chord like stabs which hit the spot.

The heavy beats & all round jungle goodness then continue...

A Kool FM 94.5 favourite from 1993. The sort of stuff DJ Hype & Randall was playing to make people slap the walls back in the day.

A jungle classic available at an affordable price, one to own.

These should be the remixes by Foul Play featuring Randall and Nookie (Cloud Nine) featuring Ray Keith, right?

This white label also has that answer machine message, my copy does not say anything about being a test press though.

I bought this in 2003 at a record store in Western Australia and always assumed it was a repress as they had a few other old Shadows such as SHADOW 29R which is clearly a repress due to what Simons etched into the runoff. I've got an original press also and compared them to each other and this one sounds way better than the original press with the white labels. The only real difference is the etching on the runoff, and the fact each tune is on a different side to the original press. I feel like this is definitely a remastered reissue rather than old back stock due to these factors.

Personally I'd say this is the one to own if you're chasing a copy of 30 R1.

Impossible to choose a favourite from these, Lords of the null lines became the most popular, especially the remixes, I played my copy to death.
