- Edited 12 years ago★★★★★☆ The subbers of Discogs have tagged this release Folk, Country, Pop, Rock and that pretty much is as exact a pinpoint as this release can get. Too laid back and introvert to be pop. Too much pedal steel become rock, though "Sugar Buzz" seems somehow distilled out of Wings "Band on the Run" album. "Sophisticated country" comes closest and places the album on the dreamy side of Lucinda Williams' Lucinda Williams - Essence and the country side of Cat Power's Cat Power - Jukebox. I find that the album equals op to these two pearls, and k.d. lang's rendition of David Byrne's and Talking Heads's "Heaven" is not only my the peak of this album my pick for a musically peak of 2011.
