IIRC, Smalltown Boy was re-promoted about a year after it's initial release to coincide with the band's BRIT nomination. That's when this 12" was issued Bronski Beat - Smalltown Boy , and I'm pretty sure it's when this pic disc was issued too. I have no source for this though.

I have the clear rim copy which sounds fine with minimal surface noise (modern day picture discs always have some surface noise). I actually like the KDA remix, especially when the original synth kicks in. Really interesting too to have Jimmy's vocals more up front on the mix, especially his background vox which brings a whole new dimension to the track.

This is one of those UK shaped picture discs from the 80s that the vast majority of turn brown. Consider yourself lucky if for some inexplicable reason yours doesn't

Fantastic British trio. Pure Sinth pop, obviously 80s. Unfortunately unlucky in private life, since Larry Steinbachek (he died in 2016) and Steve Bronski (he died in 2021), have given us small musical gems that will always be part of the very successful decade of the 80s. - Trio britannico fantastico. Puro Sinth pop, ovviamente anni 80. Sfortunati nella vita privata purtroppo, visto che Larry Steinbachek (è morto nel 2016) e Steve Bronski (è morto nel 2021), ci hanno regalato però piccole gemme musicali che faranno sempre parte della fortunatissima decade degli anni '80.
