Foster The People – Torches

My LP1 is terrific, but LP2 has distracting noise which can especially be heard all the way through "Ruby." Sadly this is what I have come to expect from Columbia vinyl. But overall it's a nice package and I always appreciate deluxe editions with non-album tracks. At least the price is right, compared to most double LPs going for $35 or $40 nowadays.

Warped, spindle hole too small, background noise… it‘s a cool album, but the pressing is a bit disappointing

SO Much background noise on this press. It sounds like someone is pouring sand into a tin pan behind the music.

I personally think this is a great pressing. Zero surface noise, real nice deep bass. It’s by no means an audiophile record, but for $25 I think it’s worth it.

My copy is a bit warped but sounds quite good to me! No cosmetic issues on the vinyl itself it’s pretty perfect. Excited to have this album on vinyl and glad it sounds decent enough to warrant more plays!

Mine came from Amazon with an extreme warp on the first record. Didn’t even look at the second yet. Plus side b’s label wasn’t fully adhered to the album. It was wrinkled (like it had gotten wet?)
Really disappointed. First time I’ve ever had to return a record

Beautiful re-release, art is fantastic and bonus tracks on point as to be expected.
However, the pressing is dismal- sides B and C are around the wrong way, and the edge of the second disc has large chunks of sharp offcut that damaged the inside of the inner sleeve.
As well as (as noted in another comment) nearly a dozen typos- to the point where I wonder if it was meant to be some sort of in-joke.

I'd give this a 3 and a half star rating if I could since overall it's a nice and pretty well made vinyl. Just falls short in some places like the weird black specks on one disc and some of the weird noise on some songs as well, I'd say disc 1 doesn't sound as good as disc 2 imo, since disc 1 has this weird hiss and sounds like the sound is louder on one channel over the other.

Disc 2 is surprisingly flawless for me audio wise however, despite the weird black specks on the orange vinyl lol. This isn't that big of an issue for me since I bought this for the bonus tracks anyway, as I already own one of the regular pressings of this album, which plays and sounds great.

It’s…very orange. Really nice press. Though what is with these companies shrink-wrapping the hell out of records at the minute. A dinked corner on mine. Those inners too. So cheap. 4/5 for me.
