First copy was hell of a mess , came opened , with lots of surface noise , cracks and pops, all the silent moments are no pleasure to listen, waiting for replacement- Edited 3 years ago

I can only agree with the comments below: the music is fantastic, but a terrible pressing. I sent one copy back to Jazzman, explaining where the worst flaws were, only to receive a replacement with exactly the same problems. Unforgiveable really. Wish I'd read the comments here before buying! referencing Dark Is The Sun (LP, Album, Limited Edition, Reissue, Special Edition, 180 Gram, Gatefold) JMANLP 041X
Returned my copy, terrible pressing with pops and clicks even after a clean. Weird pressing dimples as well. Uncharacteristic for Jazzman I think. Clearly, a lot of love went into this, just let down by MPO.- Edited 3 years ago

Very bad pressing. A pity because everything else about the album is great. I didn’t play this for a couple of months after buying, so I can’t return it. So it shall sit on my shelf gathering dust, because the constant clicks make it pretty unlistenable. referencing Dark Is The Sun (LP, Album, Limited Edition, Reissue, Special Edition, 180 Gram, Gatefold) JMANLP 041X
Beautiful heavyweight gatefold / so nice mastering and terrible pressing with a lot of clicks and pops. I'm disappointed. Vinyl cleaned twice in Okki Nokki.- Edited 4 years ago

Disappointingly, I've listened to three copies of this pressing and all have exactly the same defects- visible dimples on the surface of vinyl and a number of pops/clicks. This is a real shame because it is a great album. referencing Dark Is The Sun (LP, Album, Limited Edition, Reissue, Special Edition, 180 Gram, Gatefold) JMANLP 041X
Been a huge Greg fan for years... this a gem of an album.. in my humble opinion he’s a genius!

Buy on site, this ones an absolute stunner. From the amazing music, the pressing to the amazing sleeve it's worth every penny. Modern classicreferencing Dark Is The Sun (LP, Album, Limited Edition, Reissue, Special Edition, 180 Gram, Gatefold) JMANLP 041X
Recorded in Sweden, ‘Dark is the Sun’ is a concept album based on themes and variations by British pianist/composer/arranger Greg Foat, who has created an intriguing blend of non-contemporary jazz sounds with classic scoring techniques. An exotic array of unorthodox instrumentation was utilized, including harpsichord, tubular bells and a 15 piece choir. With musical reference and influence from such luminaries as Bruno Nicolai, Michel Legrand and Serge Gainsbourg as well as a firm nod towards UK jazzmen Michael Garrick, Keith Mansfield and Alan Hawkshaw, the result is highly-listenable, enduring and fulfilling for those who like real music played with real instruments.- Edited 4 years agoI have the first pressing and the second...both good, but the second seems to be a better pressing.
Fantastic album,, a modern day classic for sure,
