Many of the biggies from LA surf duo, Jan and Dean...Two high school buds from West Los Angeles hooked up and became one of the most best all time surf music groups...ever..."Surf City", the "Little Old Lady from Pasadena", and on and on...On this LP and most of their other product The Wrecking Crew was playing the music in the recording studio...This city oriented record had Hal Blaine, Glen Campbell, Tommy Tedesco, Leon Russell and more top LA studio players on all the tracks....LA radio great Bill Balance handled the liner notes on this LP of rehashed hits...they are worth the price of admission...He was one funny DJ...They sold a whole lot of wax for Liberty Records over the years...A whole lot...

Decent album that was fun to play at a party. The covers are far enough removed from the originals that they are worth a listen for the interesting alternate takes. Jan Berry is under appreciated for his meticulous production that influenced many bigger named artists in the 60's.
