In my opinion, this pressing sounds just as good as my Japanese '87 press. Perhaps it has a bit more bass. The songs are true gems, especially on Side 1.

I have not listened to this for 25 years... Came across my old copy and I was surprised at how "80s sounding" it was... Not quite "gated snare", but this definitely had an 80s vibe! I even dug out the Greg Calbi mastered "white light white heat" and it also had that vibe, compared especially to an original pressing or the most recent deluxe pressing that came out on vinyl... Just an observation...

This came out when I was a freshman in college. Probably saw a reference in Rolling Stone Magazine or at the record store I worked at. Blew my mind that I had never heard of the band and that their music wasn't played everywhere. They hadn't developed the influential reputation that they carry today. And how many albums of unreleased tracks could legitimately earn 5 stars? Better in many ways than their original albums to these ears.

This is a great original pressing, but I do find the big sticker to be an annoyance. DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE IT, the damn thing is extremely tightly glued to the cover, and basically impossible to remove... If you try to, the sleeve will begin tearing.
