Notes
The second album by Cream, from which two singles were released; Strange Brew [May 1967] and Sunshine Of Your Love [Jan 1968]. The album gained the band strong attention in the USA, where it reached #4 in the US Charts in 1968.
It was inducted into the "Grammy Hall Of Fame" in 1999 and ranked 112 in "Rolling Stone" magazine's '500 Greatest Albums Of All Time' [in 2003].
Recorded in the USA at Atlantic Studios, there is much division between hardcore followers as to the mono works being 'truer' to 'the sound of the times' and the quality of pressings between those of early ATCO (multi color label) and UK Reaction issues. The writing on a bar napkin of "Tales Of Brave Ulysses" for Clapton brought designer Martin Sharp into the creation of the sleeve.

I'm surprised how much this pressing is going for now. When I was looking for this album all I wanted was a mono copy of it and this at the time was the only affordable mono copy but also it's probably a lot better than the newer budget stereo pressings. To be fair this album doesn't have the greatest sound quality in the recording itself but this pressing came with absolutely no surface noise and all the instruments are easily able to be heard and doesn't sound compressed. Yes it's cut digitally but I'm guessing the source was already a high quality file so don't even worry about this being digital because this sounds incredible.

I have the cover for this album but someone swapped the vinyl at some point to a later reissue. Wondering what just the cover might be worth I will probably sell it. Thanks in advance.

So I ordered a copy from pop market thinking it was a different pressing, and it turned out to be this one! The album seriously rocks, especially the drums on this release. I get it, it's cut digitally, but excuse that in this case, as it sounds awesome.

Edit: bought one myself to see if this is real.
Edit 2: it was real! Review is above.
There were a few of these for sale by pop market, anyone know if its legit? Based off how expensive this record is, I would imagine they made a mistake selling it for $29

Take a lumpy stew of psychedelic blues/rock infused with pop & jazz + a splendid cover by artist Martin Sharp + virtuosic masters of their instruments + two crap songs (Blue Condition, Mothers Lament) = the almost amazing Disraeli Gears.
If it just had the psych tracks, it would be one of the greatest psychedelic rock albums of all time, but it doesn't, so it's not (however the winner is… Pink Floyd – The Piper at the Gates of Dawn – thanks Syd, your everlasting gift to the world).
Strange brew.

This a nice pressing regardless of what others say. Waited awhile to find one at the right price. Overall the consensus is positive if you read the forums. Digital? Fine with me as long as it sounds good and that it does. One can search for an early UK mono but you won't find a decent pressing for what this one costs. Nice packaging. Vinyl dead-quiet.
