My copy is similar except matrix says M1S1 instead of M1S3, and Mould SID Code is IFPI 2U6D,- Holy crap. My copy had the worst warp of any record I've purchased in the last few years, and that's saying something. No indication from the jacket that this was the case. Just terrible QC from the factory.

I love the sound on this record - the Matador pressing. Raw and sonic.- Edited 2 years agoMy copy is neither off-center nor noisy. Nice pressing here, no clicks no pops no crackles.
- Heavily off-center and noisy pressing of this great album. Why release such low quality re-pressing in the first place?

In everyday life is the U.S. Chan Marshall (stage name: Cat Power) a shy woman, which passers-by barely dares to look straight in the eye. It is even so much so that they usually her live performances with her back to the audience. In the studio she dares fortunately be themselves. Here she throws all the doubts and frustrations of wondering and makes them beautiful, fragile songs with raw, confrontational and sometimes painful personal texts. Following the CDs What Would The Community Think (1996) and Moonpix (1998), she was a female cult hero, similar to Kristin Hersh, Liz Phair and PJ Harvey. When we forget the cover album from 2000, is the fifth official Cat Power album You Are Free. The music is over the years Balder, slower and become more intrusive. The numbers are-in addition to Marshalls voice-only of a piano or an acoustic guitar. Applies Cat Power fine in the list slo-sadcore and acts like Smog, Low and Bonnie ' Prince ' Billy (Will Oldham). No happy music so, but a beautiful, impressive listen plate. Striking are Eddie Vedder (second voice), Dave Grohl (bass and drums) and Nick Cave's ' borrowed ' the Warren Ellis (violin).
