Cat Power – You Are Free

This is one of the records that taught me to not trust discogs' reviews when I see people complaining about issues that no one else seems to have. I remember reading some of the comments below years ago and thinking I had to avoid this pressing, so I did, I saw it at local records stores for a good price and passed on it, then I regretted it and for years I just couldn't find it at a decent price anymore... until now. As it happens, my copy is not warped, it is not off-center, it is not noisy, it is actually good! Package is quite Ok I would say, quite minimalist and indie, fits the record. Sound wise it sounds good as well, I dunno much about its dynamics but for what I hear it has a wide sound stage, good instruments separation and balanced mix. I had a few pops on side B that will surely go away with a couple of wet cleanings, other than that I would recommend this, do buy it! if it happens your copy comes with any sort of defects then well, imo you have more to win than to lose, if it is a record you love then do yourself a favor and do take the chance, do not trust me either, trust yourself, just hear it for yourself.

Mine sounds great , dead silent vinyl. But had a little warp, not audible.

My copy is similar except matrix says M1S1 instead of M1S3, and Mould SID Code is IFPI 2U6D,

Holy crap. My copy had the worst warp of any record I've purchased in the last few years, and that's saying something. No indication from the jacket that this was the case. Just terrible QC from the factory.

Heavily off-center and noisy pressing of this great album. Why release such low quality re-pressing in the first place?
