A fantastic album with (yes), Brasil '66 vibes, except that it's from Texas. Choice material, lovely sound, excellent musicianship and superb vibes. It isn't psychedelic, but it is dreamy and it is funky. The bass and drums are heavier than on a Sergio Mendes album, so perhaps this is as much 5th Dimension as it is Sergio, for that reason. Either way, recommended! referencing Meet Triste Janero (LP) WWS-7122
I would say that calling it a Sergio Mendes is not an insult. However, I believe there is more to this album. I can see why people see it as psychedelic. It mixes elements of psychedelia, with good pop sensibilities and latin jazz. It does it very well with a haunting drifting feeling that can get mistaken for psych stuff. Their is great musician ship on this album. They do an " unbelievable" version of walk on by. This album is stacked with great tracks. No wonder there are no copies at the moment.referencing Meet Triste Janero (LP, Album, Reissue) WW7122
Note - on this pressing "You Didn't Have To Be So Nice" plays at the end of side A although the label that states says it plays B1.- Edited one year ago

Have this with a generic black cover with center hole to see label. Matrix variant 3972 - WW7122 - 1 (A) S- 48641 RE-1 [Signature] and associated B side (though I can't read RE-1 in the Signature so not sure if it's the same as listed).
Came sealed in shrink from discogs seller. Doesn't say promo anywhere. Record inside was "newish" but did have scuffs (due to paper sleeve?) not affecting play.
Anyone know why White Whale would issue in a generic black cover? My same seller has another copy listed and another seller says it obtained a sealed copy in GEN cover from a “distributor,” so I’m guessing this has something to do with closure of Rainbo. Maybe Rainbo had some extra pressings but not extra covers that were found when they shut down.
I’m any case, beautiful, quiet, instrument separated, pressing of a beautiful record. Any other version of this will set you back $100 or more. Highly recommend if you can find. referencing Meet Triste Janero (LP) WWS-7122
Please message me if anyone has just the cover for this record in any condition!referencing Meet Triste Janero (LP) WWS-7122
Really a great album. Not psychy but great softer jazzy bossa nova tunes. Kinda like Sergio Mendes if Astrud Gilberto was doing the vocals. If you can find it’s highly recommended. Really deserves another reissue!referencing Meet Triste Janero (LP) WWS-7122
No idea why this is confused as 'Psychedelic rock' as its nothing of the kind. It is gentle pop Bossa Nova with nice vocals, very Sergio Mendes in fact.
Nice LP, but nothing psychedelic about it.referencing Meet Triste Janero (LP) WWS-7122
My copy is a Mono Promo version. Cat # WW7122 on sleeve and label.
