Reviews
- Edited 26 days ago- Music: Requiem is a killer addition to the KD catalog. 90s vibes permeate throughout, from the synth pads and 303s to the hand claps and broken beats. Kirk kicks things off with a strong and immediate opener in God Particle. Uplifting, beautiful, and dramatic, as we've come to expect from the master. The journey continues through electro, ambient, and techno (both housey and dubby), and does not disappoint at any point. An easy 5/5
- Art: Like almost every other KD release, the cover art is fantastic and fits the vibe perfectly. 5/5
- Pressing/Mastering: Gorgeous marbled red vinyl. At first the pressing sounded flat with some distorted mids/highs, but after a much needed stylus cleaning, I realize it was my gear and not the pressing. Nicely balanced mastering job with present but not overpowering bass, warm mids, and while it lacks a crisp high end, it results in a 90s techno quality that really works with the musical ideas. 4/5
- Packaging: I do not like pocket jackets for 2xLPs. Case in point, Juno shipped this to me with the LPs inside the jacket, which created a permanent circular indentation in the jacket as well as a corner crease. Also does not come with poly inner sleeves, but thick paper sleeves that create plenty of static and potential for micro scratches. 2/5
