Notes

The last Aerosmith album for eight years to feature Joe Perry for the entire recording (he left halfway through the recording of their next album, "Night in the Ruts"), it was less successful than their previous albums selling only 2 million copies ("Toys in the Attic" sold 8 million, "Rocks" sold 4 million).

Another dead-nuts-cool album from the BostonBadBoys. Rocks like a sumbitch & sounds better the louder you play it. Canuck LP is well mastered & pressed on nice quiet vinyl.

I think this is a great record despite what other people have said. “Rocks” is my absolute favorite with its dark, gritty and blistering vibe. As for “Draw The Line”, it’s just a great mid tempo, straight forward rock record. The songs are well crafted and the record has a good flow from start to finish. I have an early pressing which sounds great. Contrary to popular opinion, I think “Toys In The Attic” isn’t as great of a record in comparison to “Draw The Line”.

Compared to an original press, this pressing disappoints. While it sounds fine in its own right, it just doesn’t have the life or oomph of the original. This new pressing has some better detail than the OG, but it also can sound a little harsh at times, too. The OG is fuller, richer, and more organic sounding. The new pressing is not as pleasant to listen to.

I am not sure which exact pressing I have of Draw The Line, but it has a barcode on the back cover. The success of Rocks and Toys In The Attic seemed to have been a sign that Aerosmith was faltering. The title track and Kings And Queens were big hits, but the backlash this album suffered from meant it was a tough album to listen to in its entirety.

A really nice pressing of this classic! Very full with nice dynamic range. Santa Maria plant had great QC which also helps!

Agree, nothing subtle in these grooves. It is LOUD as it should be. Midrange is prominent on the Japanese pressing. Similar in some respects to my US pressing (1E/1E) but I think the US has slightly tighter bass and is a little less balls to the wall. Comparing say, Kings and Queens, it's loud on both, but you can hear things like the banjo come through more in this pressing from Japan, but the plucked bass lines are tighter on the US pressing and it has a little more air. Cranking the Japanese pressing and you'll feel like you're back in the Garden on the 78 tour...

My copy matches this but is stamped in gold on the top back left corner - "FOR PROMO ONLY Ownership Reserved By CBS Sale is Unlawful"

This could very well become my favorite Aerosmith record of all time. Every song is hopelessly erratic in its own special way.
