Cat Stevens – Tea For The Tillerman

Picked up this copy for $10 at used vinyl store. Strong VG+ throughout, and the audio is really nice, just as good as early brown A&M copy.

Very impressed with the sound quality of this pressing - one of the best copies I've heard, after the first UK....

Excellent dynamic pressing. A little background noise in quiet parts, but not a major distraction.

Performed. Shootout between this Canadian 1st press, the USA 1st and UK 1st and actually found this Canadian original to have the best soundstage. Not only was the separation and transparency better but I also noticed that the USA which was a Santa’s Maria sterling cut, was very thin and flimsy. Reminded me of a dynaflex lp (while nothing is wrong with dynaflex) at maybe 115 grams? That darn oil issue of the early to mid 70s. Lol. The UK press was second for me just nudged by the Canadian due to slightly more presence.

Nice soundstage. It’s a great pressing. I recommend this vinyl.

Oh so sweet. This pressing sounds great. U’ll pay a pretty penny but for this classic album perhaps it’s worth it?

Dbx is so clean and dead quiet. I wish this had become a standard and all preamps had decoder. Sounds better

I can't really tell the difference between the Anaalogue Productions' 45 rpm version and this one. The two sound very much alike for me. In fact, I sold off the vinyl after I got this SACD.

Cat Stevens' voice is centered and fairly sharply focused, as DSD does a great job of localizing sounds. The other instruments are easy to follow as well. For instance, the drums are generally in the right channel, and they are sharp as can be. Guitars appear in the left channel, and whatever else playing rounds out the cast.

It's an excellent SACD.
