Probably one of the records that really got me into deep house music 5 or 6 years ago. While I would have loved to be a cool kid and discovered this gem in the 90s, I was only a few years old when this was released. The truth is that I too have fallen 'victim' to today's YouTube algorithms, but in a good way. I guess that's the luck of generation Y. Now, hundreds of records futher this is still a favorite. Words just can't simply describe the sublime majesty of this record. 'New Life' is probably one of Deep House anthems, but over the years I really developed a sweet spot for 'No Going Back', which I played in my very first gig ever. I'm still chasing an original copy to frame and hang because this one means a lot...referencing Little 'i' EP (12", 33 ⅓ RPM, EP) WS102
The spotify algorithm jumps to tracks from this EP quite frequently, and usually I have to check the release year. Seeing that it comes from 1997 convinces me, again, that house music has stagnated a lot in the last 25 years, because you could not tell if this one had been released yesterday, and it was pretty much a product of its time. Also: a good middle ground between minimal dubby techno production and deep house delivery.- Wow this is very good. Amazing tracks all around. Glad I found this.
