The cover is very similar to"Recycled Plastik", "Musik" and "Sheet one", this Album sounds better and different than those ones though. Luckily this release brings melodic and less acid musics, most of the musics will make me wander through abandoned or hidden giant Gothic catacombs/Temples surrounded with nature and peaceful atmospheres. My favorite track is "Korridor" and "Hypokondriak" is the one i less like. Overall this is a melodic and relaxing album.

For me "Pakard" still remains Plastikman's best track. If you need just one minimal track from Richie Hawtin make it this one - 12 minutes of beautiful dark spacey ambient techno where every note is perfect. "Pakard" is electronic music with class; worth coming back to over and over.

As tough as it may be to chose, this is my favorite Plastikman release. "Sheet One" would probably come in as a close second, but that actually depends more on my mood than on the music quality. It's all ace material!
"Artifakts" contains some of Richie's most spacey, far reaching and smooth music he's ever done- the 303s are not abused as in some of his earlier works, the precussion is somewhat toned down in favor of deep atmospheres, background soundscapes forging sophisticated moods within the listener. It's an album I go through start to finish, which is something I cannot say for other Plastikman releases, where I usually pick out some favourites to play. It's a top notch minimal ambient album, with just enough going on to really keep you listening and voyaging to outer space. I even prefer it to his next one, "Consumed", which in my humble opinion, was a bit two dimensional. This is marvellous, timeless stuff.

There is no discussion, it is a really good album by Richie Hawtin in his singularely style of his Plastikman concept but for my person there are too less highlights on it. Tool for minimal acid DJ'z and should not miss in your Plastikman collection.
