The Everly Brothers* – A Date With The Everly Brothers

Does anyone know who produced/engineered this album, because it sounds fantastic! Tasteful use of reverb, crisp percussion, shimmering acoustics, and a deep low end. The songs are excellent too; this contains the first appearance of "Love Hurts", which should have been a single. The Everly's harmonies are front and center throughout, and they are captured beautifully. "Sigh, Cry, Almost Die" is an underrated original, and the covers of "Stick With Me Baby" and Baby What You Want Me To Do" are nicely done. My copy is an original mono pressing, it's got some surface noise, but it's barely noticeable.

Amazing harmonized vocals and early rock n’ roll sounds, but the entire album is cheesy love song lyrics.

Perfectly crafted pop songs and ballads with vocal harmonies that are up there with the greatest. “Stick with me Baby” was covered by Robert Plant and Alison Krause on their Raising Sand album. Pick this gem up at all costs, which is so ridiculously affordable that this should be in every record enthusiasts collection.
