Notes
The album cover is a collage of x-rays where one x-ray is in fact one of Steven R. Gilmore's toes + added bits and pieces from other images he was given by a friend's father. He claims it is his favorite of all the album covers he has designed over the years.

Comparing this with a Columbia original, this comes pretty close in sound quality, lacks some dynamic range and just doesn’t quite have the same clarity. However, the printing on the sleeve is awful and washed out compared to the vibrant blues of the Columbia pressing.referencing VIVIsectVI (LP, Album, Reissue) 0 6700 30021 1 0
I was pleasantly surprised with this pressing. I've had mixed luck with the Nettwerk SP reissues - I thought Remission was quite good but was let down by Bites - so I approached with caution. I'm happy to say that my copy sounds at least as good as the digital versions (streaming & CD) I have heard, maybe even a bit better. Disc was a little on the dirty side, but it came in a paper sleeve so whattayagonnado. Very little surface noise, nice deep bass, and crisp top end. Satisfied! 8/10- Edited one year ago

My copy arrived in perfect condition. No paper dust or marks on the record. Plays perfectly and sounds amazing! Buy with confidence. Note however, this is not a remaster as some have stated. It’s the same audio source it’s always been. Probably the digital master. referencing VIVIsectVI (LP, Album, Gatefold) NTL 30021
I never realized the Canadian press comes in a gatefold. I guess that means I'll have to get this version too.referencing VIVIsectVI (LP, Album, Reissue) 0 6700 30021 1 0
It gives me no pleasure to report that this pressing sounds pretty bad. As others have said, very dirty out of the jacket and with a lot of surface noise, even after a clean. I A/B'd the entire record against a CD copy and there is no question the CD version is miles superior, although I don't have an original LP to compare against and it might be tough to find one these days in good shape. Why does Nettwerk/Capitol hate making money do you suppose?referencing VIVIsectVI (LP, Album, Reissue) 0 6700 30021 1 0
The previous reviews were mixed, so I hesitated before getting a copy, but I'm super happy I did. There is absolutely no surface noise, and it sounds great. It also comes with the inner sleeve, which I was afraid of this not having.. I've never heard an original pressing, only a cd I had and sold years ago, but for a little over 20€ this is a great deal. I'm going to try Rabies next.referencing VIVIsectVI (LP, Album, Reissue) 0 6700 30021 1 0

I am actually really impressed with this remaster. It sounded really full and clear. I compared the opening track, Dogshit, to the 12 single version of it on vinyl, and this remaster didn't sound too far off from it. I highly recommend picking this remaster up. Definitely much better than many of the other Skinny Puppy remasters. - Edited 3 years ago

It's actually a pretty good thing seeing all the comments about how much the Skinny Puppy re-issues suck, then ordering them anyway, cause your expectations are close to zero so they're bound to sound better than you expect. Anyway, having actually given this one a fair amount of spins, the sound is indeed a bit muffled. It lacks high end and there's too much surface noise and pops (low in volume though, but consistent throughout the record). Don't expect too much if you decide to get it, but I feel that some of the really harsh criticism is uncalled for, at least as for the copy I got. As a sidenote - these re-issues have a hundred times more static than any other record I've bought - close to impossible to get out of the inner, so a wet clean is an absolute must. Really hard to get them dust/etc free without cleaning them. referencing VIVIsectVI (LP, Album, Reissue) 0 6700 30021 1 0
These re-issues are poor. They sound really flat and compressed, almost as if the vinyl is from a compressed master. I would strongly recommend getting a clean copy of the original.
