Iggy Pop – Lust For Life

Avoid, avoid, avoid. Opening track, the sound was cutting in and out. I had to put something else on to make sure my amps were working properly. Will find another pressing because the songs are good, this particular pressing is rubbish. (played on a highly modded LP12 btw)

My copy looks very clean, but does have some crackle. That aside, it's a dynamite pressing with great separation, clear as day. Hear all of the details in "Lust For Life" (the song). Thrill to the clarity of "Some Weird Sin". Gasp as you join "The Passenger" for a ride. Seriously, though - very good pressing. Git you one.

Had to turn the volume up a little bit, but once I did, it sounded good. No complaints. Not the best sounding record in my collection, but very far from the worst. Love this album and I’m glad to have it in my collection.

This pressing is huge. The soundstage is crazy. I would say a caveat though is that it’s pressed hot as fuck. I had a 1977 French pressing and it had the same issue. A lot of sibilance. I have a Japanese The Idiot and it’s like a different artist, sounds much cleaner and thicker bass. However I still like this and listen often. The quality of sound outweighs the hot press downside.

unsurprisingly from 4menwithbeards, this sucks. dull, muffled sound. as usual, this sounds as if it was pressed from a mid 90s cd.

the purpled color vinyl is a nice touch and looks cool. other than that, avoid and look for either an original or the 2017 virgin reissue.

Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life… But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin’ else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you’ve got heroin?

Good pressing. The content is magnificent. Music, singing; it don't get better than this.

While searching for Stooges originals I accidentally came across this DMM pressing here, since I already have the Sterling US original of Lust for Life and it sounds really great and I assumed that the US original comes close to the gold standard here, I wanted to sort out this reissue unheard, good that I listened to it again, because this pressing sounds bombastic.

This might be better compared to the original. Its really special, highly recommend.

I believe I have this pressing, all the other details tally … however the matrix/runouts don’t match any listed here. I have PL - 12488 A2 A1M (lyre symbol) IDiOT and PL - 12488 - B-2 A1A (lyre symbol) IDiOT. Any help or guidance would be gratefully received
