Iggy Pop – The Idiot

Just bought a brand new copy of this that has no hype stickers and has “MADE IN POLAND” stamped onto the shrink. No insert. Plain white poly lined sleeve. Same UPC, different runouts. The record itself is heavy and thick.

“Version without bass clef on side B” can anyone tell me what this means?

If you’re looking for this on CD or Vinyl anything up to and including the 1990 reissues would be the wise choice. It's guaranteed that their mastered direct from the original tapes. Notice that after 1990 The Idiot drops off the radar until around 2009 and I guarantee that in that 20 year gap the master tapes were beginning to break apart from sticky shed syndrome. Which is why you read so many complaints on recent releases.

Garbage pressing. The intro to Mass Production sounded awful and it killed the mood.

Trash pressing. AVOID ANY 4MWB pressing of this album, they are the absolute worst. The 2017 UME are decent for a budget player copy, even though it's pressed by Optimal, it's a decent pressing for not much $. OG US, U.K. and German pressings sound great, just try to find a clean copy since the album has so many quiet parts.

Bad sound and annoying clicking on side 1. I am ditching this copy:(

sounds better than my 1977 German first press very good sounding album

One of the best records in my life for sure and this release rocks my shoes off!

These don't have the download voucher or Back to Black hype sticker anymore, but WOW. This sounds great. Super depth of field and dynamics. Great tight low end. Vocals are really accurately drawn. What a pressing for so little money!
