It is funny with these Norwegian pressings. Whoever cut it, it sounds like they set up two Behringer microphones in a kitchen or toilet hall-room, and played a copy of copy of copy of another copy of the master tape, and cut it coming through these microphones. Funnily enough, I'm a Norwegian and had to have it, as it was money for nothing. (btw, I've noticed the same on the Norwegian Stormwatch pressing as well, and usually all the nordic Genesis pressings). Great music, though. 😂- Yes , steve wilson added bass , but he totally changed the sound of this album. Goobye the effects on keyboard, voices, guitars, etc. He turned a prog/pop/rock album into an ordinary rock album. To my ear this remixe is a simplification.

is there also an EMI SWINDON version to this edition?- Edited 2 years agoGorgeous packaging. And..the sound on this is phenomenal. Like every other recent re release in this series...the new mix is awesome. As a Tull fan.. it is great to finally hear these songs with the clarity and stereo separation they deserve. My copy is dead quiet and as flat as a vinyl can be. No problems at all. Sticker on back affixed to cover says Made in Germany and I can tell. Overall this is the same or similar package they have been releasing over the past years. The booklet alone is worth the price of admission here. Very very cool indeed. Listening to this now and very very pleased. Also I have to laugh..why am I the only audiophile on discogs who gets great copies of records..??? It must be my luck..
- Ditto to the comment from i.t.f.c , I ordered my copy from Burning Shed today, it keeps going in and out of stock lately, as of this posting it is still in stack.
- Like others have mentioned, my vinyl too came with a big mark on the track Black Sunday (A4). On every rotation you get a "click" for about 1,5 to 2 minutes duration. The vinyl was also dish-warped. Unacceptable, and CDON only suggested a price correction of €5, which I've declined of course. I asked for a full return and a new product. What the hell are they thinking a €5 reduction in price is any good for, when you want to enjoy the music. Also, Black Sunday is the most important track on the album imo.
- Don't pay SCALPER PRICES for this clear vinyl it's still on sale at burning shed for £35 as of 22/1/22
https://burningshed.com/store/jethrotull/jethro-tull_a-steven-wilson-remix_crystal-clear-vinyl - I realy wasn't familliar with this album before I bought it. I'm a big tull fan, so when I saw this on amazon for a reasonable price, I bit the bullet, and on first impressions, I'm really happy with this. The booklet is really neat, and could be worth the price of admission alone for a lot of people. The remix sounds great as you might expect from Steven Wilson. My copy has a lot of dust/debris on it, probably a combination of subpar QC and the lack of a poly-lined inner sleeve. Pressing sounds great, my copy did not have the scratch on A4. Worth it if the price is right.
- Wilson "The Wizard" did it again...the guy is just a class of its own! This remix finally brings Dave Peggs excellent bass work to life, Craneys drumming never sounded this crispy. Even if you hate or never really discovered this album for yourself...give it another try with this reissue. And i hope you grab a copy without the audible and visible pressing error at the beginning of "Black Sunday" which isn't amusing...but of course not Wilsons fault...
- Bravo Mister Wilson, you're really a great magician, we have in our hands a new release from Jethro Tull.
