Neil Young – Journey Through The Past

Sure, it's a very unusual album for Neil being that this is quite a hodgepodge of recordings released after the storm of praise for Harvest. But if it wasn't weird and unusual, would it truly be Neil? There's a lot of really good live music on this album, as well as some extra recordings, studio clips, and extra tracks from other artists, including a close out of the album with The Beach Boys "Let's Go Away for a While," which just seems so fitting and perfect. Highly recommended for fans of Neil who want it all.

I had one of these I bought long ago with one inner sleeve that said "The Past" in the center of the left side of the sleeve and "Journey Through" on the right side. The second sleeve was plain white. I assumed the white one was a replacement and thought the placement of the text on the original sleeve to be rather odd. .Album cover was a standard gatefold.

Just found another with a completely different gatefold. Each side had a foldout flap that have two die cuts that reveal the inner sleeves' printing, so side-by-side they say "Journey Through" and "The Past" through these cut-outs on each inner sleeve when the gatefold is opened. When you open the flaps and remove the two inner sleeves, there are four whole sets of pictures underneath not included on my first version - on the inside of the flaps and under the inner sleeves. Both are "Made in U.S.A." Has anyone else seen this or know what I'm talking about?

Have a version of this where side 1 and 4 are together and 2 and 3 on the other album - labelled correctly but a little strange - difficult to pin down the release, has US pressing cat no and die cut sleeve...any thoughts?

Got a white label test pressing from disc 2, label says " sent 22-22-1972

This is one of the worst sounding bootlegs I've ever heard. Lost Diamonds should be ashamed to put this out.
