Early issues of this album (c1969/70) contain a different master which includes Haeco-CSG processing and alternate mixes of "If I Could Have Her Tonight", "Here We Are In The Years" and "What Did You Do To My Life".
These early versions are generally identifiable by a sleeve that does not have Neil Young's name on the front cover, though some transitional copies exist with a later record in an early sleeve.
In the US and some other regions, the revised mixes can be identified by RE-1 in runouts, while in the UK, the original mix can be identified by "✳T" in runouts.
Later copies with the W logo in the rim text are all the revised mix, but no longer have RE-1 in the runouts.

I have a copy with the same matrix and label format but with the first Us cover with the Neil young 9n top front. It is also printed in USA curiously.
Edited one month agoJust like the NY Harvest Japanese pressing, this is Stunning! Vivid, clear, wide soundstage, and mid-range for days. Highly musical. Doubtful you'll find a better press.- Concur this is sweet sounding with good immediacy and also you can hear the difference in production from track to track.
- Sounds good. Probably as good as it can given the inconsistencies of the album track to track qualities. Plays like most Pallas pressings 99% silent. I have had some non fill at rhe fade out of Laughing Lady but if your gonna get non fill then at least let it be in a fade out! Otherwise the tip on gatefold and Pallas top notch inners are very satisfying and for £20 plus postage from US to UK im happy with mine!
- My copy matches this pressing and runout #s, but listening confirms that side 2 has the remixed versions, not the original.
I vouch for this, too. I have an early-ish (1971?) German pressing--I am not sure if it has the misguided "Haeco-CSG" treatment (designed to make stereo records playback in mono better) or not, but the German pressing is very thin-sounding, like a 3rd generation tape copy. This 2009 pressing is a great presentation sonically and in terms of cover printing. I imagine this is as good as this Lp could sound.- I Haver a hybrid, with side one the remix and side two the original mix.
