The matrices are a definite match, but like the previous writer, I’m not sure what makes this a limited edition.

This is the 2011 RSD version, long sold out and limited to 4000.
The repress listing (same plates, jacket, etc.) is here: https://www.discogs.com/release/16313475-Fleetwood-Mac-Rumours

I cried listening to this songbird on this pressing. My first record player setup and this was my first album ever before payed on the setup. Before this all I heard was those terrible retro cd tape 8track 30s looking combos.

It completely justified my decision to buy all this stuff and I have to say I’m hooked for life!

This version, like the other 2x CD releases, has the "extended" Second Hand News - that is, the ending guitar solo is repeated to add a whopping 10 seconds to the song. I'm surprised it still slipped in when they cut this in 2004.

The mastering is wonderful and It comes in a sturdy and beautiful jacket. However, the pressing is horrible. I tried 3 copies already and they all came with the same type of pressing problems that people have described (most noticeably in songbird). Interestingly, the pressing problems of my third copy are less noticeable with a AT-VMN95E stylus than with a AT-VMN95ML stylus. It's interesting because the AT-VMN95ML normally produces better sound when there is inner-groove distortion and some scuffs, but it's almost always more sensitive to non-fill issues. In fact, the 3 copies that I tried for this release sound like if they had interspersed non-fill spots, but I can't see any non-fill under bright light. I suspect that although it's not explicit in the matrix information, this release was pressed using the standards of P.USA instead of the regular Pallas because 1) they used the same type of inner sleeve (the regular pallas uses sleeves without the hole in the center) and 2) I have noticed the same type of pressing problems in other releases with the P.USA indicator in the matrix, such as a lot of the ORG music releases, while I rarely find these type of problems in releases that use the regular Pallas (eg., speaker corner, pure pleasure). But, anyways, I am just speculating here. It's sad that Pallas did such a bad job with this important release.

Outstanding. Superb quality all the way from the packaging, crispness of the photography and of course the wonderfully warm and rich sound. One of the best pressings in my collection

Worth the hype. This sounds excellent, deep bass and high vocals 👍🏻

It goes without saying that this album sounds absolutely fantastic. One of my best sounding records even amongst the audiophile pressings. Get a clean copy while you still can!

This entire series is quite exceptional and the few copies of this series that I own sound better than other SACD versions of the same album. They are dual layer disc as I have software that can pull the DSD layer from the disc before it converts it to PCM and it creates a lossless DSD High Resolution download that I play on our Networked music server. The player tells you what format it’s playing and after striping the DSD layer from the CD, they show up as DSD on the screen of the player as a DSD file. That’s why I like these disc, but they only made a few of them.

SACD is a format that I always have to tinker with when I play it through our 7.2 surround sound system that we generally watch movies through. So, it is generally setup to playback DTS Surround Sound. I have noticed that when I play a SACD on our main entertainment system which is 7.2, I have to tinker with the sound as well as the speaker levels in order to get them to sound the best and to get the clarity to come through like SACD should sound. I think that’s why it’s not as popular as the stereo releases. It’s a format that appeals to a niche crowd who doesn’t mind fiddling with their system and then returning the settings back to a different setting that’s more suited for watching TV or Movies. I have to do this with all of my SACD’s which are mostly either Japanese or Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs. Even single layer SACDs require this tinkering with the equipment.

The best sounding Surround Sound format that I own are the Dolby DTS DVD 5.1 audio disc. I don’t have to make a bunch of adjustments to my equipment to get it to sound like it should. It’s really a shame that the format didn’t take off as it’s an extremely good sounding format. Unfortunately there’s not that many releases on this format and the ones you find are extremely expensive now.

I haven’t been very impressed with the Pure Audio brand of 5.1 Blu-ray Disc either. I own a few other Blu-ray Disc and the best sounding one I have ever heard is Tom Petty - “Damn The Torpedoes” which sounds phenomenal and they give you a High Resolution download of the album as well. It’s in a card sleeve that I placed the disc into a Japanese style CD sleeve for Japanese Mini LP CD’s to keep from scratching it up.

                      https://www.discogs.com/release/2585886-Tom-Petty-And-The-Heartbreakers-Damn-The-Torpedoes

This is the best sounding Blu-ray album I’ve ever owned. It’s crazy how many different versions of a single release some people own. I have five versions of this Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers release.

I was going to buy every release in this series, but I just haven’t gotten around to it yet and everything is getting more expensive by the day. With the Japanese Yen way down, now’s the time to try and buy Japanese releases, but on Discogs they haven’t dropped the prices on any of the Japanese releases, they have actually gone up.

I have tried two copies, both disc twos being warped/off-center, and both disc one and two not entirely silent. I was barely able to fix the warp using my Vinyl Flat without damaging the grooves. Sonically brilliant, there is no comparison really. Beautiful jacket. Overall a huge success of a reissue, just a surprisingly weak job from Pallas. The pros FAR outweigh the cons, and I am a very picky listener.
